SALVATION

HEBREWS 2:3

TEXT VERSE:

Heb 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Heb 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

The purpose of this series is to help the new Christian as well as the older Christian Bible student to rejoice in "so great a salvation"

THE AWAKEINING                   "REGENERATION"

The beginning of the work of salvation by God is regeneration.

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Regeneration reveals God as a lifegiver. Jesus said in John 3:7 YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN.

1. The Intiation Of Regeneration

INITIA'TION, n. [L. initiatio.] The act or process of introducing one into a new society, by instructing him in its principles, rules or ceremonies; as, too initiate a person into a christian community.

1. The act or process of making one acquainted with principles before unknown.

2. Admission by application of ceremonies or use of symbols; as, to initiate one into the visible church by baptism.

The process of regeration is by washing and renewing. The renewing of the Holy Spirit is "making new" The Holy Spirit is the agent and the Scripture is the activator of regenertion.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2. The Impartation Of Regeneration

The Definition of Impartation

According to Francis, impartation is “the ability to give unto others that which God has given to us . . . either sovereignly, or through other anointed vessels (messengers) of God” (Francis).

The author of life and everything it is God.

Now regeneration is NOT the refreshing or reshaping of a lifestyle as in information or reorientation. Regeneration is not experienced in rituals such as baptism even though baptism is important in the life of a new Christian but again has nothing to do with their Biblical salvation. The Word of God is the only thing that makes us clean.

Jesus even specifically said in Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. We as believers are only begotten or birthed by and through the Gospel Of Jesus. 1Co 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Regeneration is the soul work of God alone. The moment we say we had something to do with our salvation we corrupt it and it non effective. Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  

Jesus Himself explained regeneration to Nicodemus over in Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. We as humans can only reproduce human life. Only God can reproduce Divine life.

Jesus said regeneration is the giving or gift of eternal life. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is the gift that is necessary to gain entrance to God's Kingdom. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The highest birth is from above, without it there is no life. 1Jn 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.1Jn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

3. The Implantation Of Regeneration

IMPLANTA'TION, n. The act of setting or infixing in the mind or heart, as principles or first rudiments.

The divine nature is implanted in us the moment of our salvation. His divine power has given us all that pertains to life and godliness. The Lord begins His life in the believer and a miraculous transformation begins. Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  

4. The Implacation Of Regeneration

Regeneration begins with the acceptance of Jesus Christ by the believer. The result of regeneration is the creation of a new relationship between the person and God.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
