Destroying Favoritism with the Love of Christ
Series: Truth Bible Study

Dr. Theresa M Bell
Dr. Bell explains what it means to have the love of Christ. God shows no favoritism and treats everyone the same, both believers and non-believers. Scripture advises us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, which applies not just to marriage but to any covenant. Being unequally yoked can lead to being manipulated, mistreated, or disrespected for another's gain. In Acts 10, a centurion soldier, typically seen as an enemy of the Jewish people, is depicted as a believer in Christ who behaves accordingly. This challenges the tendency to stereotype others based on their status rather than their character. Despite being employed by the Gentiles, the centurion honored and worshiped the living God. Having the love of Christ means loving everyone equally, without partiality. The world often rewards people based on credentials rather than character. Corporate America may exploit an individual's skills and knowledge without compensating them fairly if they lack formal credentials. Similarly, nations that employ undocumented workers may pay them less for more work, which is a form of social injustice and disrespect. Being kingdom-minded means treating everyone equally because the king provides for all. In a kingdom-minded community, no one is underpaid or overworked due to technicalities or lack of credentials. If one benefits from another's labor, then the laborer should receive equal benefits without excuses. Subscribe and click the notification bell to stay updated on new messages as they are posted.
