Scripture for thought Mark 4:38-40 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 2 Chronicles 20: 1-30 (15-17, 20) And he said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle does not belong to you, but to God. 16Tomorrow you are to march down against them. You will see them coming up the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the valley facing the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17You need not fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out and face them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you.’ ” 20 Early in the morning they got up and left for the Wilderness of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood up and said, “Hear me, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be upheld; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.” Take Up Your Cross Matthew 16:23-25 But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done. 28 Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest by the Jews. But now My kingdom is not of this realm.” Matthew 17:14 I have given them Your word and the world has hated them; for they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me... Matthew 10:34-40 DECLARATIONS I am loving, and love others as Jesus has loved me John 13:34 a new commandment I give to you that you love one another as I have loved you that you also love one another. I'm a new creature in Christ old things have passed away and I can see all things are new. 2 Corinthians Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away behold all things are become new. I am a child of God by faith in Christ Jesus Galatians 3:26 For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:21 for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. I am an heir of God and joint heir with Christ Jesus I have suffered with him and I shall be glorified with him Romans 8:17 and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also glorified together.
